TAKUMI NEXT : Essence of Japan -Mastery Collection-

JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization) and METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) launched the project "Takumi Next " to support Japanese craftsman to expand their markets abroad.

This project involves Japanese producers who excel at the art of creation utilizing the local resources such as crafts, traditional products, and household goods that will lead the next generation of Japan.

Their products present the highest quality mastery products made in Japan with strong background in traditional techniques and rich cultural context behind the works. Through the lens of these craftsmen, you can glimpse the inner workings of a nation, Japanese history and the industries that drive its economy and its vision for the future.

The globe-trotting showcase of Japanese skill and craftsmanship has arrived for the first time in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The city of Abu Dhabi exhibits a combination of the traditional and the modern, and boasts a rich cultural landscape with museums, art galleries and a dedicated cultural district.

TAKUMI NEXT Pop-up store will feature 10 curated products that run the spectrum of Japan’s esteemed crafts: from paper, ceramics, fabrics, to advanced metal and glass making and more. The store is located in The Galleria Mall, at the heart of Abu Dhabi’s International Financial Centre, and will run until 28 February 2023.
