@monoai.infoInstagramAbout usIt has been over 110 years since the factory was established. We are located in Saitama next to Tokyo. Our indigo dyeing techniques that we use to dye fabrics bring out colors similar to vintage clothes “BORO\ which change over time. Our main product is Aizome Shirushi Hanten, which is a coat used by craftsmen and for festivals. They are custom-made by hand. There are other factories that do indigo dyeing in Japan, but there are very few factories that can manufacture this Aizome Shirushi Hanten. In fact, we make most of Aizome Shirushi Hanten's that are used in festivals all over Japan.Because we make everything by hand, we can't produce large numbers, especially during busy seasons. But we are proud of our unique and limited items which we can customize according to customer's needs.-Our 3 main techniques.1.we use a process called Goire, in which we apply squeezed soybean juice and colored dyes before dyeing with indigo.2.we use the Katazome technique in which letters and patterns are printed onto fabrics. 3.we design traditional writing styles, such as Edo-moji and Kakuji. These techniques are valuable on their own.For these processes, we use many natural ingredients, such as squeezed soybean juice, sawdust, glutinous rice flour, and bran. Warosoku are made using the ancient Japanese technique of “Tegake-seiho,\ved from plants. The raw material for wax is the oil of the lacquer tree nuts of the family Rhus. The haze fruit is processed by crushing, steaming and then finally squeezing the wax out. Warosoku candle wicks are made with Washi (Japanese paper), Igusa (the same grass used for tatami mats) and cotton. Warosoku wicks are completely hand made. Our Warosoku are made in the ancient Japanese style, with melted wax being layered onto every wick by hand. Every single Warosoku candle at Haze is 100% hand made. The craftsman's hand print can be seen on the layered wax, and the cross section has distinctive ring patterns. When the fire is lit, the wick sucks up the wax so it does not drip. (Warning: In strong wind the candle may favor burning to one side, and this may cause excess wax to drip)There is little soot and no unpleasant smell.HAZE031WEB@haze.jpInstagramSAITAMAa single flower vaseOur company makes sculptures for Bhuddist Shrines and Temples.
