MAF Releases Test Results of Imported Japanese Foods

Jul 14, 2011

MAF has announced the results of tests on selected Japanese food product imports.

On the 11th of July, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) announced the test results of food products imported from Japan, with all foods tested being being judged safe for consumption and cleared for sale.

MAF has been monitoring the situation in Japan since the March 11 earthquake, and the National Radiation Laboratory (NRL) has been carrying out tests on selected products from certain areas in Japan.

All products from all areas were deemed safe and contained levels of radiation far below the actionable levels for radiation.
