Government Incentives and opportunities

The Japan External Trade Organisation offers a range of services to help you enter the Japanese market. Come find out how, and we’ll also teach you about Japanese government incentives for investment into Japan. These include tax breaks, subsidies for equipment/setup costs, land costs, surveying, facility costs and feasibility studies.

Target market: Companies with an interest in entering and finding out more about the Japanese market. Large Government subsidies are focused toward advanced tech firms, low carbon companies, green industries, and manufacturing with mechanical equipment.

Annette Azuma is a chartered accountant and a Director with Staples Rodway Ltd, New Zealand’s leading independent full service accountancy firm. Annette specialises in Japanese business and deals with a number of large Japanese corporate and high net wealth individuals assisting with all aspects of taxation, compliance, M&A and immigration. Annette also assists NZ companies expanding their operations into Japan. Annette has attended a number of Trade Missions to Japan. She speaks excellent Japanese and has lived in Japan for two and a half years including working for Staples Rodway’s affiliate, Baker Tilly Japan and attending Kyoto Commercial University. Annette holds a Commerce degree from Otago University and an Arts degree majoring in Japanese from Massey University. Annette’s association with Japan spans more than 30 years and continues in her business life and also family life with her husband Kenji and their two sons.
