World Robot Summit 2020

The Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) will hold the World Robot Summit (WRS) in 2020, comprising of a robot competition and a robot exhibition. WRS aims to bring together the most advanced robot technologies from all over the world, strive to solve some of our toughest challenges, deepen people’s understanding of robots, and encourage positive discussions that will lead to concrete uses and applications of robots.

 

WRS will feature two international events:

1) World Robot Challenge (a competition of robots & robotics)

2) World Robot Expo (an exhibition of the latest robots & robotics)

 

In the WRS Robots Challenge, there are four categories: Industrial Robotics, Service Robotics, Disaster Robitics, and Junior. There will be prize money for winners and support for travel and transportation expenses for some participants.
