OVERVIEW

The COVID-19 pandemic is causing massive disruptions to economies, businesses, and markets across the world. JETRO will therefore hold a series of webinars featuring the economic impacts of COVID-19 on the various sectors and industries of Japan. Join our webinars to stay informed about the current situation in Japan.


The focus of this fifth webinar will be on the status of Japan's automobile industries from both before and during the pandemic, and how the current crisis may impact its future. There will also be a brief discussion on how the general economy of Japan is being affected.

Nagasaki Yuta, Invest Japan Promotion Division at JETRO

Nagasaki Yuta is a researcher of the Invest Japan Department at JETRO. His research focuses on inward foreign direct investment to Japan and covers a wide range of related topics including the business environment and  business operations of foreign-affiliated companies in the country.

Maekawa Keiichi, Automotive Advisor at JETRO

Maekawa Keiichi is a longtime advisor to the automotive industry in Japan. He has advised and worked with several automobile companies through many roles in research and development, corportate planning, product planning, and program management. He has advised Nissan Motor Company Ltd. and German automotive suppliers, and is now a Visiting Professor on basic business strategy at the Tama Graduate School of Business.
