We have been engaged in photocatalyst business for more than 20 years focusing on harmful gas decomposition, antifouling, antibacterial and deodorization. We have coated photocatalyst inside and outside of more than 4000 buildings. Photocatalyst is a technology for decomposing harmful organic substances by using titanium dioxide (Tio2) and UV.
We began operating factory in China with large Chinese company and business is growing strongly focusing on indoor air purification and building antifouling.
The most difficult part of the technology is the way of carrying Tio2 on the surface of materials. The method of mixing it with an organic binder or heating is taken. In the former case, the Tio2 is buried in the binder and the decomposition power is weak, and the binder and even the organic surface are broken down. In the latter, the surface is limited and performance starts to degrade. Best way is carrying Tio 2 on the surface using inorganic binder only. However, since inorganic matters basically do not have adhesive power, it was said to be impossible. We can form a solid film of 100% Tio2 using inorganic binder only at room temperature on various surfaces. The inorganic binder which is called peroxotitanic acid is discovered in the study of glaze in Arita-Ware 400 years tradition. It can form hard surface film of 100% Tio2 which does not decompose base and binder.
