"Tara Athena" (TA) is a new affordable premium brand intended to be started in Singapore, India and Malaysia. .It is intended to have the holding company in Singapore to hold the agreement as well as to avail of the tax benefits of investing in India through a Singapore company.
It is TAs goal to create design merchandise and do wholesale distribution of branded fashion and lifestyle products for men and women throughout India, Malaysia and Singapore using premium fabrics and production technologies.
TA intends to sell in product categories such as Environment Supportive Recycled Products, Apparel Scarves, Shawls and Bandanas Organically produced Carry All Jewellery, Watches, Timepieces, Stationery and Writing Instruments.
TA also intends to offer a concept store in a box for the franchisees.
TA in conjunction with a JV partner intends to open up 200 retail outlets in India, Malaysia and Singapore.
TA intends to sell to adult men and women in the middle to higher income category; Monthly Household Income Rs60,000 and higher through a small in-house sales team.
Pricing will be as per local standards. The wholesale price will range from Rs 500 to Rs 10000 per piece. The average wholesale order will be Rs200K to 500K INR. The gross profit will be 100 to 150%
The brand will operate profitably by Year 1 and recover all developmental costs by end of Year 3. It will provide a return of approximately 35% per annum to investors. The funds from investors will be used for production, working capital and advertising and marketing. The 1st tranche of investment is Rs. 120mio USD3.0mio. The sales in the 2nd year onwards is expected to be Rs. 500mio pa.
In Year 5 the company will be listed on the exchange.
