Job vacancy: Junior Research Associate

JETRO is a government-related organization that works to promote mutual trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world. Originally established in 1958 to promote Japanese exports abroad, JETRO’s core focus has shifted, in the context of innovation, towards promoting foreign direct investment into Japan and helping small to medium size Japanese firms maximize their global export potential.

 

To support its activities in Switzerland, JETRO is looking for a:

 

JUNIOR RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

 

Starting date of work:

- June 1^st, 2023 (negotiable), fulltime

 

Profile:

- Fluent in English, German and French (spoken and written)

- With a high interest in Japanese business and culture

- With a very good knowledge of Swiss economy and Swiss governmental institutions

- Skills in communications/public relations

- Internet and computer literate

- Capable and taking initiatives and independent

- Academic background in economics, international relations, political sciences, or relevant fields

- Swiss national or valid work permit

 

Tasks:

- Conducting research (Internet research, interviews) and writing reports and articles about Swiss and - - Japanese economies, as well as other topics

- Editing the JETRO monthly Newsletter for Switzerland (selecting topics, conducting interviews, writing articles)

- Briefing Swiss news (from German and French sources) to the Directors on daily basis

- Webmaster

- Interface between IT maintenance company and JETRO Head Office/Geneva

- Translating documents (German and French into English)
