Japanese capital stock in Switzerland soared in 2015 to CHF 5,649 million.
Nevertheless, the number of Japanese staff in Switzerland slightly decreased in 2015 to a total of 9,388.

Since the entry into force of the Japanese - Swiss Free Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement in late 2009, the Japanese FDI in Switzerland strongly increased.


The largest foreign investors in Switzerland are the European Union (78%) and the United States (11.7%). Japan accounts for 0.7% of total FDI in Switzerland and represents more than half of the Asian, African and Oceanian FDI.
