In partnership with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), JETRO Manila held a seminar on the Philippines-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (PJEPA) last March 2013 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
The seminar held focused on the partnership agreement between Japan and the Philippines and its impact on Philippine trade development. The seminar also tackled how to do business in Japan through the partnership agreement and discussed the rules of origin under the PJEPA which focused on the procedures of granting preferential tariff.
With presentations from guest speakers who includes Hon. Undersecretary Adrian Cristobal Jr. of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), University of the Philippines' International Relations on Asian and Japan Studies professor, Dr. Sylvano Mahiwo, PCCI Vice Chairman, Mr. Donald Dee, and Chief Customs Operation Officer of the Bureau of Customs (BOC), Atty. Louis Adviento; the seminar held was attended by business persons from private organizations and the media. Opening the event was PCCI President, Atty. Miguel Varela, while the closing remark was given by JETRO Manila's Executive Director, Mr. Ryoichi Ito.
