NEURONET’s Moshi Moshi Interactive service gives companies the freedom to connect their customers anywhere

Communicating with family and friends through the various video and voice chat applications on the market is convenient, but using them for business often falls short. NEURONET’s Moshi Moshi Interactive is a connectivity platform that combines a diverse set of features, universal compatibility and ease of use for a variety of industries.

As NEURONET’s founder and CEO Hirofumi Maekawa explains, Moshi Moshi Interactive gives users the ability to share documents and draw on shared online “canvases,” all while maintaining voice and video chats with multiple members in a group.

The code that powers Moshi Moshi Interactive’s services is the result of research that Hidekazu Kubota, NEURONET’s Executive Chief Technology Officer, conducted during his graduate and postgraduate research. The internationally patented method uses the latest web technology (such as WebRTC), which keeps bandwidth down and allows for video chat routing (this feature is known as automatic call distribution, or ACD) on the web.

Real-Time Collaboration at a Distance

Instead of requiring users to download an app or register for a service, Moshi Moshi is entirely browser-based and as Maekawa explains, this rich feature set and OS independence makes it unique: “It can work on any device, OS, or browser. We are the only one who has this kind of diversity and such a complex sharing system.”

In addition to this feature-rich, collaborative virtual space, Moshi Moshi gives businesses a way to connect their salespeople with potential customers. Once a client signs up with the service, they add a line of code to their website. The client can assign any number of agents to handle sales requests or questions from site visitors. A button or popup window appears on the site’s page, and a potential customer can make contact with just a single click. The contact request can then be routed via webACD to the agent best suited to handle the call, depending on the criteria that a given company sets. Normally, this kind of call routing would be the work of a private branch exchange, or PBX, which can be very expensive and requires that users be in the same building as the hardware.

In addition to the flexible work environment that it permits, Moshi Moshi allows sales agents to communicate with potential clients throughout the entire process, from the welcome, explanation, and persuasion phases to assisting new customers with filling out online forms thanks to its the desktop sharing capability.

Saying “Moshi Moshi” to the Global Marketplace

Over the last five years, the company has been the recipient of government and industry awards for innovation, but Maekawa explains that Moshi Moshi is looking to increase its reach. They have office space in Silicon Valley, from where they plan to make their entry into the US market. Rather than trying to rival large companies that have similar offerings in the US, Moshi Moshi wants to leverage its innovations as improvements to existing services. Maekawa points out that the company's success is a testament to Moshi Moshi's capability. “The company only has 10 people spread around Japan, but we’ve been able to expand into Silicon Valley. It’s a dream to be able to do this as a small company.”
