Participation in 3rd Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok Conclusion of action plan between Russian SMB Corporation and JETRO

From September 6 to 7, the 3rd Eastern Economic Forum was held in Vladivostok, Russia. JETRO's Executive Vice President Koji Yonetani participated in the panel discussion session of the forum under the theme of export potential from the Russian Far East. During the session, he introduced JETRO's activities related to the theme, and on behalf of the organization, he concluded an action plan (road map) with the Russian Small and Medium Business (RSMB) Corporation.

Taking the opportunity of the Eastern Economic Forum, JETRO signed an action plan with RSMB Corporation, which is a government-affiliated organization tasked with assisting Russian SMEs in doing business and helping to improve the business environment for them. The two organizations concluded a memorandum of cooperation in December 2016, with the aim of promoting close collaboration between Russia and Japan in future business exchange, and also jointly held a procurement trade show within the international trade fair “Innoprom” held in July 2017.

In the concluded action plan, the RSMB Corporation and JETRO reached an agreement on jointly holding a business matching meeting in March 2018, which will help Japanese manufacturers in Russia and Russian suppliers to find potential partners from each side. The two organizations will work together to jointly conduct surveys with the purpose of assessing the demand for procurement of Japanese companies and collecting data on potential Russian suppliers aspiring to provide products to Japanese companies.
