Japan Pavilion Announcement Ceremony, marking 500 days before Expo 2015 Milano

December 2013

Expo 2015 Milano will be held in Italy for 184 days from May 1 to October 31. Japan will host the Japan Pavilion through the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), which will be serving as the main organizing ministries. Additional support will be given from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).

Under the theme of this exposition, "Feeding the Planet. Energy for Life," preparation is already underway for the Japan Pavilion, which will be demonstrating how Japan has contributed and will contribute to the world's food-related problems. The pavilion also aims at expanding traditional products related to diet such as agricultural, forest, fishery and food products, beverages and tableware to the global market.

On December 17, 2013, marking 500 days before the exposition, press and exhibition conferences were held.

At the exhibition conference, MAFF Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi and METI State Minister Midori Matsushima both stated their hopes to host a successful pavilion. On behalf of the Italian Government, the Chargés d'Affaires ad Interim of Italy to Japan expressed the special expectation from the Italian side for the Japan Pavilion, which will be the largest of all country presentations.
