MOU signed with Hungarian Investment and Trade Agency
JETRO and the Hungarian Investment and Trade Agency (HITA) have concluded a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to strengthen cooperation toward increasing trade and investment between Japan and Hungary. Through this agreement both parties aim to help Japanese and Hungarian companies expanding business into one another's country.
The MOU was signed by JETRO President Satoshi Miyamoto and HITA Vice President Péter Bilek at JETRO Tokyo Headquarters on November 21 before the following officials:
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán
Hungarian Economic Minister Mihály Varga
Hungarian State Secretary Péter Szijjártó
Hungarian Ambassador to Japan Istvan Szerdahelyi
Japanese Trade Vice-Minister for International Affairs Norihiko Ishiguro
Japanese Ambassador to Hungary Tadamichi Yamamoto
The representatives of both organizations also exchanged the MOUs later that day before Prime Ministers Abe and Orbán at the Prime Minister's Office. The memorandum between JETRO and HITA was also made reference to in a Japan-Hungary joint statement signed by both prime ministers on the same day.
Through the MOU the parties have agreed to make their utmost efforts to promote and develop trade and investment between the two countries in the following areas:
- Sharing information related to trade and investment
- Conducting market surveys
- Organizing projects in support of trade and investment
- Dispatching investment missions
