Profile

JETRO, or the Japan External Trade Organization, is a government-related organization that works to promote mutual trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world. Originally established in 1958 to promote Japanese exports abroad, JETRO's core focus in the 21st century has shifted toward promoting foreign direct investment into Japan and helping small to medium size Japanese firms maximize their global export potential.

Under the President, the President, and the Executive Vice Presidents, there are the Headquarters, the Institute of Developing Economies(IDE), the Japan Food Overseas Promotion Center (JFOODO), the Regional Head Offices, the Domestic Offices (Trade Information Centers), and the Overseas Offices. Under the President, there is the Internal Audit Office and the Digital Transformation Office. There is also the auditor who conducts audits of JETRO from an independent standpoint. The headquarters has the following departments: Administrative Affairs, Human Resources, Finance & Accounting, Planning, Research & Analysis, Overseas Business Support Center, Intellectual Property and Global Talent, Innovation, Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Food, Overseas Business Development, Digital Marketing.
