JETRO Invest Japan Report
This report compiles the recent trends of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Japan, related government policies and activities as well as JETRO’s activities. It also includes the results of the survey that JETRO conducted to foreign-affiliated companies about their perception of doing business in Japan.
JETRO Global Trade and Investment Report
JETRO publishes an annual Global Trade and Investment Report (formerly published as JETRO White Paper on International Trade and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) until 2009). The paper includes JETRO's estimates for world trade and FDI figures, as well as in-depth analysis of the world economy and Japan's place in it. Previous white papers have focused on such issues as intellectual property rights, the impact of FTAs, overseas operations of Japanese firms as well as the state of foreign direct investment in Japan. The paper is first published in Japanese and later translated into English.
Efforts by Local Governments to Promote the Establishment of Enterprises
Local governments throughout Japan are implementing a variety of unique measures aiming to revitalize the regional economy and expand employment. For example, proactive efforts have been made to promote the establishment of enterprises, by taking such measures as easing regulations and providing financial support for special zones in an aim to form industrial bases with a competitive advantage, and providing subsidies to increase foreign-capital enterprises rooted in each local area. This report describes the latest trends in efforts being made by local governments, including industrial policies and what is being done to attract enterprises.
