Strength of the region's industries and economy

Tsushima City has developed its economy thanks to an ancient shrine and the harbor as a hub of transportation and economy, while being a historic, culture-rich city, whose traditions have been passed down for generations, as seen in the Owari Tsushima Ten-no Festival, listed as UNESCO Intangible Heritage. Located in the area about 16 km west from the central area of Nagoya City, the city boasts geographical accessibility to Nagoya by railways and arterial roads.

    Article 34(14) of the City Planning Act; Article 11(1) of the Standards of Development Investigation Committee in Aichi Prefecture
  • Companies engaging in the designated cluster industries under the following provisions, excluding distribution-related industries:
    Article 2(3) of the Municipal Ordinance for the Approval Criteria for Development Activities under the City Planning Act of Tsushima City
Outline of Incentives (Requirements etc.)

50% of the equivalent value to the fixed assets tax, excluding land, paid per fiscal year for 3 years from the fiscal year that companies paid such fixed assets tax to the city for the first time (no amount limit is set)
Note: As for companies that have relocated the headquarters from other areas to the city or newly established their headquarters in the city, 100% of such tax for the first fiscal year; 50% for the following fiscal years

Outline of Incentives (Requirements etc.)

Where companies intend to build a facility in the area designated by the city under the provisions of Article 34(12) of the City Planning Act (Shirahama, Uji, and Kabuto areas), the city will subsidize either one of the lower cost of: 50% of expenditure on the new construction of roads, water channels and waterworks systems for which the city will have authority over management; or the upper limit stipulated by the ground-floor area to be developed (as for the expansion of the existing facility, the limit of the subsidy amount is reduced by half).
