As a center of exchange for Northeast Asia, Toyama maintains air and sea routes with countries around the Sea of Japan through Toyama Kitokito Airport and Port Fushiki-Toyama.

Toyama Airport has five scheduled international flight routes, more than any other local government-administered airport.
Two scheduled domestic flight routes: Tokyo and Sapporo.
Four scheduled international flights: Seoul, Dalian, Shanghai, and Taipei.

Sea

Fushiki-Toyama Port (international trade port)
The port was selected as "Comprehensive Hub Ports" of sea of Japan and it is expected to be developed further.
Regular container ship services operate on routes to China (two to Dalian, one to Qingdao, two to Shanghai, one to Tianjin and one to Ningbo every week), South Korea (three to Busan, two to Ulsan and two to Gwangyang weekly) and Russia (seven to Vladivostok and two to Vostochny monthly).
