Strength of the region's industries and economy

Seto City is located in a northwest inland part of Aichi Prefecture, and boasts good accessibility to an airport, harbor, and railways. The ceramics industry has been the leading industry of this city for a long time in its production of quality clay and quartz as raw materials for glass. The city’s major industries today include electrical machinery, metal products, medical instruments and fine ceramics.
As for R&D, the city is close to Knowledge Hub Aichi, an Aichi-Prefecture-run base for creating and conveying next-generation technologies and universities.
