Near Niigata Port, handling the largest amount of foreign capital containers on the Sea of Japan side of Honshu, attracts many companies with strong availability in terms of the import/export of materials and products, including the paper making industry and the chemical industry.
There are also oil and LNG storage stations and thermal power plants, and it also has the function of being an energy supply center.
