Kitakyushu City and its surrounding areas have become the center of the automobile industry, with the production volume about 1.6 million. The location of the city allows quick access to production bases of finished car manufacturers and major automotive component manufacturers, and there are a variety of physical distribution facilities nearby. These include the international trading port, Kitakyushu Port, and Kitakyushu Airport, which is in service 24-hours a day. For these reasons, a great number of automotive-related companies have production facilities here.
