Ibaraki Prefecture is located about 100km from Tokyo, the center of the Japanese economy. The prefecture is also near Narita International Airport and only takes about 1 hour to both locations.
*Two important ports are located in the prefecture.
Ibaraki Prefecture continues to work on developing its network of expressways which offer rapid access to Tokyo and the Kanto region. This network provides powerful support for businesses.
In March 2010 Ibaraki Airport opened, becoming the third airport for the Tokyo Metropolitan Area. The airport offers regular scheduled flights to Shanghai, Kobe Sapporo and Naha.
Ibaraki port and Kashima port, the two important ports are located in Ibaraki.
These port are connecting by highway, and withTokyo or several area in Ibaraki.
Tsukuba Express and JR Joban Line connects several areas in Ibaraki to Tokyo.
