In Aomori Prefecture, toward the aggregation of automotive-related industries, implementation, and penetration of plug-in hybrid cars and electric cars are in progress with the initiation of “Aomori Prefecture Automotive-Related Industries Promotion Strategy,” which works on providing support to the local companies. The prefecture is actively promoting invitation of enterprises, as well as development of a necessary workforce.
By utilizing the superior potential of the prefecture as the base for automotive development and manufacturing of these “environment-oriented next-generation cars” and advantages such as excellent workforce supporting the manufacturing industries, the prefecture aims to aggregate automotive-related industries.

In addition to reactor fuel cycle facilities and nuclear power generation plants , Aomori Prefecture is pursuing one of the world's most diversified development of energy source and supply bases by including facilities such as wind-power generation facilities that are among the largest in Japan. Aomori is working to maximize its environmental recycling and energy potential,in order to promote the creation of new industries, and economically revitalize the region.
