Shopee , established in 2015, is a Singapore-based company that operates an e-commerce business mainly in Southeast Asia and Taiwan It is a company under the umbrella of Sea Group (formerly known as Garena), and is responsible for the e-commerce division of the Group. Sea Group is a unicorn company listed on the NY Stock Exchange in October 2017, with over 5,000 employees.

The company uses a "marketplace type" of e-commerce site, providing B2C (business to consumer) and C2C (consumer to consumer) platforms. It operates marketplaces in each of 14 regions, including Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Brazil and Mexico, and works with over 70 couriers throughout the market to provide logistics support.
