In September 2022, JETRO conducted a questionnaire survey through online distribution/collection, targeting 19,143 Japanese companies in 86 countries and regions overseas (local subsidiaries with a Japanese equity stake of 10% or more, branches and representative offices of Japanese companies), and we obtained valid responses from 7,173 companies (valid response rate: 37.5%).

This report compiles a cross-sectional, worldwide comparison of the actual activities of Japanese companies operating overseas. Prior to the survey results by major region, this report presents the results for the following common questions worldwide: (1) Operating Profit Forecast, (2) Future Business Development, (3) Human Resources Management and Wages, (4) Human Rights Policy in Supply Chain, and (5) De-carbonization Initiatives.
