Business ExpandingHailo, an Israeli-based AI-chip manufacturer, establishes a Japanese subsidiary in Tokyo

The company is fundamentally reviewing the conventional computer architecture and developing compact and efficient AI processors (Specialized processor for AI and Deep Learning tasks) that can compute and interpret vast amounts of data in real-time (as high as 26 terra operations per second – TOPS).

With the company's AI processors, edge devices can implement maximum processing capacity with performance that far exceeds other processors, while minimizing power consumption, size, and price. It improves the processing capacity of edge devices for automobiles (ADAS and autonomous driving), machines/equipment to facilitate smart cities, smart homes, smartphones, and smart factories. Now, complicated AI applications that previously could only run on the cloud are made possible to run on the edge. The company's products are already in mass production, and the number of client companies exceeds 200.

In July 2020, the company established Hailo Japan LLC in Tokyo as part of its ongoing growth strategy, including strengthening partnerships with Japanese customers and expanding the Asia-Pacific market.

Upon establishing its Japanese base, JETRO's Invest Japan Business Support Center (IBSC) provided assistance in finding business partners, business matching, consultation (registration, labor), introduced service providers and arranged interviews with them, and also provided information on the market and regulations.
