The company has a strong track record of helping client companies with digital transformation (DX) by utilizing data analytics, machine learning/AI, agile development, cloud, and customer experience design. Its consulting is unique in that it helps companies build in-house capabilities and use technology autonomously, rather than the conventional contracting approach. Slalom also partners with over 300 technology providers, including Seattle-based Amazon, Microsoft, and Tableau/Salesforce.

To further expand its business in Japan, where DX initiatives are accelerating, it established Slalom K.K. in Tokyo in June 2019 and began full-scale operations in Japan in March 2021.
Upon establishing the company's Japanese base, JETRO's Invest Japan Business Support Center (IBSC) provided consulting (registration, visa, tax, and labor), market information, and PR support, and introduced service providers (tax accountants, banks, and service offices).
