establishes a Japanese corporation in Osaka

Established in 2016, Rising Startups LLC brings together engineers, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and startups from New York to form a global community that interacts with the Japanese innovation ecosystems by sharing knowledge and experiences. As there were almost no opportunities to meet Japanese people at meetups in New York, the company created events to connect the Japanese and American tech scenes and, in a few years, grew it into a meetup of more than 2,000 people.

Rising Startups also supported the New York Mission of Japanese startups, organized mainly by the METI and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, with the addition of tours of the New York's tech scene, market surveys, pitch events and workshops. It promotes collaborations between Japan and New York startups by gathering audiences relevant to each participant's diverse motivations and project goals, and by providing local startup companies‘ insights.

In April 2020, the company who has been providing business and technologies consulting services to businesspersons, individual business owners and entrepreneurs, established Rising Startups Japan, Inc. in Osaka City. Osaka’s vibrant startup community will be central in accelerating the convergence of Japanese and American startup scenes.

Upon establishing the company in Japan, JETRO's Invest Japan Business Support Center (IBSC) introduced local governments (Aichi, Kanagawa), provided information (markets), provided consultation (registration, tax), and introduced service providers (judicial scriveners, tax accountants, the Japan Patent Attorneys Association, and the Osaka Prefectural General IP Helpdesk).
