SVOLT Energy Technology Co., Ltd.
conducts R&D and the manufacture of lithium-ion battery-related products. It was established in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, in 2018 by becoming independent from the E.V. Battery Division of a Chinese car manufacturer, Great Wall Motor Company Limited. With R&D bases in China, South Korea, and India, the company is strengthening R&D on cutting-edge materials for new energy vehicles.
In March 2020, the company established its Japanese subsidiary, SVOLT Energy Technology Japan K.K., in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, to conduct R&D on lithium-ion power batteries, their cathode materials, and storage batteries and related integration products. The establishment of a Japanese base is expected to expand its business in Japan and contribute to job creation.
Upon establishing the company in Japan, JETRO's Invest Japan Business Support Center (IBSC) provided market information, introduced service providers, and local governments.
