CIMSOURCE
is a company that creates and operates product databases of tool suppliers. The company provides data search servers so that numerical control programmers, tool-related division managers, project managers, buyers and designers can narrow down the search conditions for tool suppliers, shapes, cutting data and 3D graphics on an annual contract basis. It handles over 600,000 types of component data from 26 companies. The company was spun off in 2013 from CIM Aachen GmbH, which was founded in 1987.
With a database consisting of cutting tool 3D data at the core, CIMSOURCE digitalizes all administrative work regarding cutting tools—including automatic identification and estimation of tool change time based on purchasing, logistics and on-site configuration of cutting-edge tools. This allows a smooth data link with systems in the production area as well as in the accounting area. Categories of control that have relied on on-site experience and professional intuition can be compiled into a “knowledge database,” leading to expectations for a future system utilizing AI technology to expand.
CIMSOURCE Japan Co., Ltd. was established in Yokohama in September 2019 with the aim of expanding sales channels in Japan.
To assist with the establishment of the company’s base in Japan, the JETRO Invest Japan Business Support Center (IBSC) provided temporary office space, consultation on registration and information on the market. It also introduced a municipal government and administrative scrivener.
