Ministry of Justice: Simplification of tally signatures

Regarding approval procedures for articles of incorporation, foreign companies had been required to submit tally signatures as a substitute for tally impressions, which resulted in added complexity and onerousness in actual business practice. A change was broughtin on this matter exempting the requirement for tally signatures and instead allowing applicants to sign or initial each page of the documents by hand.

This change materialized following deliberation within the Working Group for Revising Regulations and Administrative Procedures of the Council for Promotion of Foreign Direct Investment in Japan.
