Financial Services Agency: Opening of bank accounts by subsidiaries of foreign companies in Japan

There have been cases in which newly established foreign subsidiaries in Japan were kept waiting for an excessive period of time or simply declined when trying to open bank accounts at Japanese banks, resulting in loss of time and money for the companies.  Therefore, in October 2016 the Financial Services Agencies requested three major Japanese banks to promptly arrange an environment to smooth out the procedures of opening bank accounts for foreign companies
