Latest UpdatesFrench employee benefit service provider Edenred starts digitized meal voucher service
Mar 25, 2016
Edenred is a French enterprise which provides employee benefit services for companies. The company is listed on NYSE as well as Euronext Paris. It has bases in 42 countries and its Ticket Restaurant® meal voucher service is used by 41 million employees across 660,000 companies and public sector clients. In Japan, it provides as many as 150,000 employees of more than 1,000 companies with meal voucher services available at more than 55,000 affiliated restaurants and convenience stores across the country through its wholly owned subsidiary, Barclay Vouchers Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo).
In December 2015, Edenred announced a new project in Japan: development and provision of a digitized version of its meal voucher service. The new service, under the name Ticket Restaurant® Touch, is based on NTT Docomo’s “iD” electronic money technology and is set to launch in April 2016. The company expects that digitizing meal vouchers will be more convenient for clients and users and therefore expand the market of Edenred’s corporate services in Japan.
JETRO Business Support Center (IBSC) provided support for Edenred’s expansion in the Japanese market, including provision of information on the Japanese employee benefit industry and other related markets. It also introduced the service provider to candidate partner companies.
