The company has recently established a corporation in Japan, Dandelion Chocolate Japan, Inc. It produces chocolate under the concept "Bean to Bar" by using only cacao beans that have not been blended, called single origin, and organic sugar extracted from sugar cane. Its chocolate doesn't contain any additives nor dairy products [even cacao butter] and is processed by a handcraft method in which all sorting, roasting, conching, tempering and molding of beans are conducted by hand.
In February 2016, its first outlet in Japan was opened in Kuramae, Tokyo, marking the first launch of its overseas outlet. The outlet was designed as a factory style cafe with a chocolate factory and a chocolate stand on the first floor and cafe and workshop space where customers can learn about chocolate on the second floor.
For the establishment of the Japanese corporation, the JETRO Invest Japan Business Support Center (IBSC) provided support including lending temporary office space and supplying information on visas and incentives.
