Ames Advanced Materials Corporation, a US-based company which conducts refining and powder processing of several kinds of metals including silver, has established a subsidiary in Tokyo. It succeeds a division from within a Japanese subsidiary whose parent company sold its silver powders business to Ames Goldsmith Corporation, the parent company of Ames Advanced Materials. The new Japanese affiliate was incorporated in March 2014, and in February 2015 it set up an office in the Marunouchi district of Chiyoda Ward in Tokyo.
Silver powder and other metal materials fabricated at the headquarters located in New Jersey are used in a wide range of electronic material production such as for conductive paste, electromagnetic shielding paint, photovoltaic solar cell electrode paste and electrode paste used for the inside and outside of multilayer chips.
JETRO IBSC provided start-up assistance for the company, including provision of temporary office space free-of-charge and consultation on registration, taxation and labor laws. It also introduced a bank for the company to set up an account and begin operations in Japan.
