Latest Updates Toronto Invest Japan Seminar

Mar 24, 2015

On March 3, 2015, JETRO hosted the Toronto Invest Japan Seminar in Toronto, Canada with the aim of rousing the interest of Canadian companies in investment in Japan.

At the seminar JETRO used the latest data to explain the current situation surrounding the recovering Japanese economy, its outlook in the short and medium term and the appeal of Japan’s investment environment, while also giving examples of business activities by Canadian firms in Japan. The fact that Japan’s investment environment is improving through government-led structural reform and deregulations was particularly stressed.
During a case study session on Canadian companies, information on the state of affairs and business strategies of these companies was given for the fields of insurance, pension funds, IT and manufacturing. The Development Bank of Japan also presented successful cases of firms entering the Japanese market through the bank’s services for financing and mediating M&As.

Along with an engaging Q&A session between speakers and visitors which followed the presentations, the seminar proved successful in fueling excitement about the possibilities for investment in Japan among Canadian companies.
