Industrial Tourism in Japan
Kinzangura sits in a mountain setting, a short drive away from downtown Ichikikushikino City.
Kinzangura originated in the Kushikino Gold Mine. Long ago, this mine supported the prosperity of the Satsuma domain, and today the location still inspires in us the Satsuma samurai spirit. This spirit is expressed in our honkaku (authentic) shochu. The 120 kilometers of mining tunnels dug over 350 years provides an optimum environment for the storage and aging of shochu, which is contained in earthen jars, because the temperature is constant throughout the year.
We offer customers a tour of these mining tunnels used for strage on a trolley train. Our facility also has a souvenir shop and a cafeteria.
