Yumiko Igarashi Museum
The Yumiko Igarashi Museum contains a collection of the famous artist’s works over her career. Visitors can experience the excitement and fantastic dreams that fill the pages of girl’s comics with original hand-drawn illustrations and drafts from Ms. Igarashi’s manga—which have been cherished from the 70s—products based off of her works, an exhibition of trinkets included inside comic books and a library where visitors can read stories that are now out of print. While in the museum, visitors can also take part in the “Princess Experience,” a photo shoot while wearing a dress just like those which appear in Ms. Igarashi’s drawings, and the “Yagasuri Hakama Experience” (reservations required), where you can walk around wearing a Hachiman-chan costume. Come by and enjoy the world of girls’ comic books!
We also invite you to drop by the new Café Princess located next to the museum. The café offers a palace-like atmosphere where guests can enjoy food and beverages while dressed up in princess costumes, and has become well-known through coverage on TV and other media outlets. One of the most popular dishes is the Princess Pink Curry, an original pink-colored feast fit for a princess! The café also offers a variety of delicious and adorable sweets and parfaits. Girls in particular will surely be delighted!
