Kurozu Factory shop & Restaurant
"Sakamoto Kurozu", artisan amber rice vinegar made of premium-rice, aged in handcrafted glazed earthenware jars, was first made in Fukuyama, Kirishima-shi of Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan in about 1800 during the Edo Period. The optimum conditions of a warm climate, the availability of excellent water, and the Satsuma ceramic jars for aging, produced the highest-quality rice vinegar. In 1975, the vinegar was named "Kurozu", Artisan Amber Rice Vinegar. "Sakamoto Kurozu" is made from a unique technique, known for its mellow taste and health-promoting benefits, it has become recognized nationwide, as the original "Kurozu". Sakamoto Kurozu, Inc. has maintained the 200-year tradition of technique and craftsmanship to produce its "Kurozu".
