Industrial Tourism in Japan
Maihime Shuzo
We stick to tradition in making our sake. Following the lead of our nationally famous brewmaster here in Suwa, each and every worker takes great care in brewing our sake, drop by drop, with great care. Of course the water used is clear underground water, its source being the beautiful Kirigamine Highlands. The brewmaster, stubbornly particular in the brewing process and in choice of ingredients, brings out the best in sake. We are dedicated to making delicious sake, neither sweet nor dry, but holding a delicate balance of sweetness, sourness, tartness, dryness and bitterness.
(Factory tour)
You can tour the "kura", maturing storage, which plays a vital role in Japanese sake. We also have a sake gallery we proudly named "Sake-no-kura Maihime" adjacent to the brewery. Inside the gallery, a range of Maihime sake, the products we boast of, are presented and you can sample some after the tour.
