Koyo-an Soba Making Workshop

Furusawa Shuzou, a sake brewery founded in 1836, opened its facility Koyo-an, a soba noodle-making workshop, in 2003. Yamagata Valley, where the facility is located, rests between Mt. Zao to the east, Mt. Gassan Asahi to the west and Mt. Hayama to the north. From long ago, the area has been rich in water, which has led to bountiful harvests of rice and safflower—ideal for producing soba. Our dream was to create a venue where guests can gather together, have fun making soba and enjoy eating it all in one place. And what better way to appreciate soba noodles than paired with Japanese sake? Koyo-an guarantees a 100% safe and sanitary environment for cooking and eating. We eagerly await your visit!
