Johana Hikiyama Museum

Come see 300 years of history of the Johana Hikiyama Festival (a nationally designated Important Intangible Folk Cultural Asset) and its various beautiful procession floats and other decorative items! Videos with the sounds of traditional music and the rolling of the cart wheels let you feel like you're at the festival, no matter what time of year. Guests can also visit four restored traditional Meiji-era storehouses built by wealthy merchants, seeing authentic architecture and scenery at Kurakairo (Town History Museum). The exhibits' incredible cultural value reflects the accomplishments of those who lived here before us.
