GENKAI SHUZO

"Iki" is the birthplace of mugi shochu, the authentic distilled spirits made from barley. Since the establishment of Genkai Shuzo in 1900(Meiji 33), traditional methods of production handed down over generations, with continuous innovation that enables us to produce our honkaku-shochu (single distillation shochu) brand, "Mugi shochu Iki". It has the same distillation process as whisky or brandy. Once you taste it, you'll be fascinated by its aroma and velvety texture as well as its characteristics of ‘not causing a terrible hangover'. "Iki Shochu" was designated as one of the three geographical indications of shochu brands in Japan by WTO based on its regulation enacted on July 1 1995. We are looking forward to welcoming you to our production site.
