CEATEC JAPAN is the largest international exhibition in Asia for the ICT, technology and electronics sectors. At CEATEC JAPAN 2009, JETRO will offer JETRO BIZMATCH at CEATEC JAPAN 2009 (October 6th - October 8th), a business-matching event that connects representatives from New Zealand ICT and technology companies with potential Japanese partners.

About JETRO Bizmatch

JETRO coordinates one-on-one pre-arranged business meetings between program participants and Japanese companies. Meetings are arranged by JETRO staff with expert knowledge of the Japanese market, and experience in supporting foreign businesses.

Companies have their own meeting booth, and access to English-Japanese interpreters. Participants will also be able to attend a seminar on Japan's ICT market, can attend CEATEC's "International Reception," and have full access to the CEATEC event itself.

A total of 279 business meetings were held at last year's BIZMATCH, many of which led to contracts and other business arrangements.

Services Offered to Participants

－One-on-one pre-arranged business meetings with potential Japanese partners.

Note: Meetings, in principle, are one hour in length and conducted in English.

Participation Fee

Participation in JETRO BIZMATCH@CEATEC JAPAN 2009 and the above services are offered free of charge.*

* Participants must cover other costs such as transportation, accommodation, etc.

Qualifications/Requirements

1. Participants must be non-Japanese firms and (all of the below)

i) Have a definite strategy for entry into the Japanese market
ii) NOT have a subsidiary or branch office in Japan
iii) Searching for a Japanese business partner

2. Other important requirements:

i) In general, company must not have an exclusive sales agent or a distributor. Foreign companies that already have a distributor in Japan must obtain a letter of consent from such third party and submit it to JETRO prior to or at the start of the event.

ii) Participants must be able to take part in the entire three-day event (company representatives attending the event should, ideally, be from sales and/or technology departments)

iii) Participants must have tangible products, services, and technologies relevant to CEATEC JAPAN 2009. (Consulting firms, resellers/distributors and outsourcing companies are NOT eligible)

Screening

Selection is competitive. JETRO will screen applicants on the basis of their applications. Last year, two Australian companies were selected for participation (this number varies on a yearly basis).
