We are pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for participation in the International Life Science Partnering Forum Kobe/Hyogo 2007.

The event, which features company presentations, business partnering and a networking reception, offers an invaluable opportunity for foreign firms to connect with representatives from leading Kansai-Kobe/Hyogo firms interested in joint ventures, R&D tie-ups and licensing agreements in the US, Europe and Asia-Pacific. The event also represents an invaluable opportunity for expanding business in Japan's growing life sciences/biotechnology market.

1. Company presentations (15min/company)
Individual companies deliver 15-minute presentations about their company and main areas of interest. International biotech and life science firms are encouraged to take this opportunity to introduce their company before representatives from leading Hyogo-area biotech and life science firms.

Time permits approximately nine company presentations; participation is on a first-come, first served basis, so apply early.

Interested parties should register for the event and send presentation materials (PowerPoint slides) by August 10th to Mr. Kozo Mori, Kobe city government (kozo_mori@office.city.kobe.jp).

2. Business partnering
Participating foreign biotech and life science firms take part in pre-arranged one-on-one meetings with prospective Hyogo-area business partners. Upon application, participants will be sent a list of participating firms from Kobe/Hyogo. Participants can request to meet with specific companies.

To apply, please follow the below instructions.
a) Submit the "Application Form" via fax by August 10th, 2007
b) Fill-out and E-mail the "Company Profile Sheet" by August 10th, 2007
c) You will receive the "Directory of Participants", which shows participating firms from the Kobe/Hyogo area, and the "Appointment Request Form" attached below by August 15th, 2007
d) Indicate on the "Appointment Request Form" which firms you would like to meet as well as your available times and submit it by email by August 22nd, 2007
e) You will receive your appointment schedule by September 3rd, 2007

3. Luncheon seminar
Enjoy delicious lunch and listen to seminar introducing Kobe. Cost is ¥1,000.

4. Networking reception
Opportunity to network with representatives from Kobe/Hyogo-area firms as well as other foreign participants. Cost is ¥2,000 (includes drinks and food).
